Can Canadian international students travel to the US as tourists? Any visa required?
Can canadian international students travel to the US as tourists just like US international students travel to the Canada?
I want to know the answer to my scenario particularly. I was an US international student and now I am a Canadian international student. I am from Hong Kong and holding a Hong Kong SAR passport.
Can I travel to the US as a Canadian international student as tourists just like I was travel to the canada as an US F1 international student? Do I need to apply any visa? My US student visa haven't expired but my I20 has.
Thank you for answering.
Do I need to go to the US Embassy?
Your statements are wrong.
U.S. students cannot go to visit Canada without a visa. Only U.S. Green Card holders may do so.
However certain passport holders are visa exempted for a visit to Canada; those are for example citizens of the Hong Kong SAR.
Same as U.S. students cannot go to Canada, Canadian students cannot go to the United States.
Citizens of Hong Kong are not visa waived to the United States; you will need to apply for a B-2 visa to go to the States as a tourist.
