Why does American (U.S) media make fun out of Mexicans and Canadians a lot?

Both sets of people are hardworking and peaceful, could that be the reason?

Because Americans like to put their fingers in their ears and shout "la la la" and pretend everyone around the world loves them.

They think Irish culture is wearing green and getting pissed on Guinness. Which is so far from the truth.

I think they need to grow up, stop thinking they’re the best country in the world, and learn about the world instead of being their usual, arrogant selves.

Curious about a refund at Canadian Tire…?

I bought a digital camera from Canadian Tire today and Im not sure if I want to keep it. I paid with a gift card worth 57 dollars and the rest on debit which was about 55 dollars. Curious what stores do in this case for refunds? I am looking at cameras from other stores and I am curious if they would refund the full amount to me in this case, or give me another gift card? I have my receipt and it falls within the refund policy.

call or go back to canadian tire and ask what their policy is regarding this. - that is the easiest thing to do and then you will have the correct information.
good luck

Canadian vacation,.. where to go?

My fiancee and I are taking a 10 day vacation in the beginning on August, driving from NYC to canada. Well first off, what is there to do at Manicouagan Lake? I know it’s a 210 million year old meteor crater and it’s way up north but what is there to do besides fish and tool around in a boat? On the other hand we are considering going to Quebec City and working our way up to the tip of the Gaspe Peninsula or going through Maine and then to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We like to camp, thus avoiding hotels and paying a fortune for room rentals and we like to hike too. We aren’t really into fancy restaurants and glitzy stuff. Odd, unique out of the way places interest us. Tourist spots with rude, fat, noisy dorks are a turn off.

well, i can’t help with the manicougan lake, but i have gone camping along the QEW and the st laurence river
you can start by driving through maine, going on to NB, NS, go across the bridge (great view, kind of frightening) to PEI, get some red sand, camp at one of the numerous parks there. then you can head back towards mainland, through NB, back into quebec. I just drove straight through to around quebec city, camped, went to quebec city, did the tourist thing (okay, it’s inevitable. it’s a tourist attraction, after all.) you can go on to Montreal, although it’s pretty similar. then into Ontario, maybe to Ottawa (though i have to admit it isnt that big of a deal if you skip ottawa). niagara falls is very awe-inspiring, if you dont mind going out of your way to drive a bit south. odd places? not many in canada. it is canada, after all. sorry for such boring suggestions, but i’m sure you’ll find lots more if you search up wildlife and outdoor programs.

Can someone tell me why everyone makes fun of Canadians and Canada?

I LIVE IN THE USA AND THE VERY FIRST THING I REALIZED WAS THAT PEOPLE MAKE FUN NOT ONLY OF THEIR SOCCER, BUT THEIR ANTHEM, THEIR STYLE, ATTITUDE AND ALSO THAT -HEY THING?

RECENTLY I MET A COUPLE OF COUPLE OF canadianS AND I WAS WONDERING,

CAN SOMEONE CONVINCE ME TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE?
————————————————————————————
*I MADE SURE THIS QUESTION HAD THE WORD SOCCER IN IT*

First of all Canada is not known for soccer, their major sports are hockey and baseball …As for their National Anthem there’s nothing wrong with it..actually it’s pretty cool!!
Hey is used everywhere not only in Canada…LOL

O canada!

Our home and native land!

True patriot love in all thy sons* command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,

The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land** glorious and free!

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Extra verse (not part of the anthem)
O Canada! Where pines and maples grow,
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow,
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea!
Thou land of hope for all who toil!
Thou True North strong and free!

WaterfallOfDestiny,,Thank you@LOL

How can a non-Canadian citizen get a divorce without traveling to Canada?

A friend of mine (non-canadian) married in Canada and then immediately left the country. It’s been over a year and there has been no contact with her husband. How can she get a divorce without traveling back to canada?

Contact a lawyer in the province where her is husband is a resident of. He/she can courier out any documents that need to be signed by your friend.

If there are no children (together, or of either party), there are no real property issues and the husband is in agreement it is relatively simple.

I do note, that Canadian law requires that one of the parties must be a resident of one province for 1 year to be able to file for divorce there. That’s the province she needs to file in.

How would you guys feel if Canada becomes a superpower?

Imagine if canada becomes the world’s technologically advanced, highest GDP, wealthiest, and most powerful nation. How do you guys feel about that?

Also, of course it is 100% possible, if the government and people focus on that goal.

We’ll never be a Superpower … atleast not in that kind of way. Stephen was praising us as a potential Energy-Superpower but I just don’t see it.

Why do Americans make fun of Canadians?

Hi, I’m a fourteen year old Canadian and I’m wondering why Americans make fun of us and why? I get the whole "aye" thing (not all canadians say it) but why make fun of our "small" army. Our country population is one tenth the size of the Americans so we just don’t have enough people to compete with their Army.
All of your answers are great! ^.^ Thank-you very much.

It’s insecurity.

If we stop making fun of others, we might realize how messed up we are.

Sad, but true.

Ever notice how the guys making fun of gays have no sleeves, a mullet, a beer gut, and bad teeth? If he stops, he might accidentally look into a mirror.

Where in Canada is it best to experience Northern Lights?

Hello, I am from New York and recently discovered a keen fascination for aurora borealis (Northern Lights). I also learned the best time to experience them was between september-october, march-april so I was planning a trip for this september to northern canada. My question is how far north into Canada do I have to drive in order to be able to experience the northern lights?

the further north the better colours and sounds become. You can sometimes see them as far south as just north of Montreal/Tororonto if its a cold clear evening and they are out in force but you only see it as a faint white glow on the horizon and dont hear the snaps and pops on a strong nite.

The furthest point north in Canada thats easily accessible by public transport would be Fort McMurray in Alberta. You can fly in to Edmonton and then take a regular commuter airline like westjet http://www.westjet.com to fly from Edmonton to Fort McMurray. Here is a link to the towns tourism site and yes they even have northern light packages!
http://www.fortmcmurraytourism.com/index.php?page_id=1003 (in fact their hospital there is called "northern lights regional health" as happen to work in that field. /
Fort McMurray is also home of the oil sands deposits and that process of digging out oil with huge cranes and huge trucks is worth a look see too and open to public tours.
Edmonton is home of the worlds largest mall with a huge indoor water park, hockey rink, submarine pools and like 500 stores so its worth a day on the journey too if you ever do.
