Obtaining a Canadian tourist visa for a foreign person in USA?
Hi,
I am an Indian student in USA holding an F-1 visa planning to go to canada for traveling for 5 days. The closest Canadian consulate is in NYC. I went to their webpage :
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information…
What is not clear to me is
1) exactly what type of visa do I need ? tourist visa or immigrant visa ( considering tourists as immigrants also ! )
2) can I get my required visa from the Canadian consulate in NYC ?
3) so what is the quickest way to get a canadian tourist visa for 5 days ?
1) tourist
2) yes
3) apply in person having made an appointment.

you will need a tourist visa =non immigrant,
you need to get your visa from the closest consulate to your residence,
there are no quick way to get a visa this time a year, summer is upon us,therefore application take longer.
